Born and raised in Mexico City, Lizet is the daughter of painter Shirley Chernitsky. As a result, she started her artistic career early in life surrounded by artists who became a strong influence in her artistic life, and helped her develop her skills.

She studied at the Universidad Iberoamericana, Boston University and received a BA in Visual Arts at the University of California, San Diego.

Her artwork has been exhibited in museums, cultural institutions and art galleries across the United States, in Canada, Mexico, Asia and both Western and Eastern Europe; she has been awarded art prizes and has successfully participated in various auctions.

She recently directed and produced a short film of surrealist painter Leonora Carrington (1917-2011) and Gabriel Weisz Carrington, titled Leonora and Gabriel an instant as well as produced the documentary Shirley Chernitsky: El estallido de la imaginacion, directed by Lucy Orozco which has been shown at festivals and museums. She has also collaborated, directed, or performed in several art videos some being shown in several countries as part of the Human Emotion Project.

In acting, Lizet worked as a hostess and actress in television programs produced by Televisa Mexico, and acted in theater with Julio Castillo. She appeared in several television commercials, including Coca-Cola. More recently, she acted as lead in a film titled The Magicians, by Lisa Franek produced by Sybil Wendler. Also in Tea in a Thunder Cup, a film by Alison Williams. She has also performed in several art videos, including Secret Place, a collaboration with Michael Douglas Hawk, which has been shown in several countries as part of the Human Emotion Project.

Nació y creció en la Ciudad de México, Lizet es la hija de la pintora Shirley Chernitsky. Como resultado ella comienza con su carrera artistica a temprana edad rodeada por artistas quienes se convierten en una fuerte influencia en su vida artistica y la ayudan a desarrollar sus habilidades

Estudio en la Universidad Iberoamericana, Universidad de Boston y obtuvo su licenciatura en Artes Visuales de la Universidad de California, San Diego.

Ha exhibido su obra en museos, instituciones culturales y galerias de arte, en Estados Unidos, Canada, México, Asia y en Europa Oriental y Occidental; asimismo ha recibido premios de arte durante su trayectoria y ha participado con éxito en diversas subastas.

Lizet recientemente dirigio y produjo un corto de la pintora surrealista Leonora Carrington (1917-2011) y Gabriel Weisz Carrington, titulado Leonora y Gabriel un Instante y produjo el documetal Shirley Chernitsky: El estallido de la imaginacion, dirigido por Lucy Orozco el cual ha sido mostrado en festivales y museos. Ha colaborado dirigido y actuado en varios videos de arte de los cuales algunos han sido exhibidos en varios paises como parte de HEP Human Emotion Project.

En actuacion, Lizet trabajo como locutora y actriz en programas de televison producidos por  Televisa Mexico y actuo en teatro con Julio Castillo. Salio en varios comerciales de televison incluyendo Coca-Cola. Recientemente actuo como actriz principal en una pelicula titulada The Magicians de Lisa Franek producida por Sybil Wendler. Tambien actuo en una pelicula titulada Tea in a Thunder Cup, de Alison Williams.
