Born and raised in Mexico City daughter of painter Shirley Chernitsky, Lizet developed her artistic skills in childhood while growing up surrounded by several artists whose influence became decisive in her creations.
Lizet worked as an actress, studied at the Universidad Iberoamericana, Boston University and received a BA in Visual Arts at the University of California, San Diego.
Her artwork has been displayed in museums, cultural institutions and art galleries across the United States, in Canada, Mexico, Asia and both Western and Eastern Europe; she has been awarded art prizes and has successfully participated in various auctions.
She produced a documentary which was shown in the Museum Carrillo Gil, Morelia international Film Festival and Channel 11 TV Mexico. Also produced and directed several short documentaries for the People’s Post-Media Arts Center SD of which, two were shown in SDLFF 2010. She collaborates and performs in art videos currently showing in several countries as part of HEP Human Emotion Project.
Resides in San Diego, California and is now part of the Selection Committee SDLFF-2010-11 and Outreach Committee ADL.
Nació y creció en la Ciudad de México, hija de la pintora Shirley Chernitsky, Lizet desarrollo sus habilidades artisticas desde su infancia rodeada por varios artistas cuya influencia resulta determinante en sus creaciones.
Lizet trabajo como actriz, estudió en la Universidad Iberoamericana, Universidad de Boston y obtuvo su licenciatura en Artes Visuales de la Universidad de California, San Diego.
Ha exhibido su obra en museos, instituciones culturales y galerias de arte, en Estados Unidos, Canada, México, Asia y en Europa Oriental y Occidental; asimismo ha recibido premios de arte durante su trayectoria y ha participado con éxito en diversas subastas.
Produjo un documental el cual se presento en el Museo Carrillo Gil, Festival Internacional de Cine de Morelia y Canal 11 TV Mexico. Recientemente produjo y dirigio varios cortos para People’s Post-Media Art Center SD de los cuales dos se presentaron en el SDLFF 2010. Colabora y actua en video arte actualmente presentado en varios paises como parte de HEP Human Emotion Project.
Reside en San Diego, California y ahora es parte del Comite de Seleccion de SDLFF-2010-11 y Comite de Outreach ADL.
